JEE Main 2013 Answer Key

Joint Engineering Entrance Examination Main conducted on Sunday April 7th, 2013. Over 14 lakh engineering and architecture aspirants have registered for the entrance test.

Last year, 11.5 lakh aspirants took the test conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education. Experts are advising aspirants not be complacent as this may result in minor but critical mistakes, marring their chances of appearing for the JEE Advanced as only the top 1.5 lakh candidates in the merit list of the 14 lakh will be eligible for the advanced exam, which is the entrance exam for the admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology.

While the offline (pen and paper) exam will be conducted on Sunday, the computer-based exam introduced last year will be conducted on April 9, 22, 23 and 25.

The JEE (Main) examination 2013 is being conducted for admissions to BE/ BTech courses at National Institutes of Technology, Indian Institutes of Information Technology, Delhi Technological University and other Central Government-funded technical institutes. This year's JEE (Main) merit list will give 40% weightage (suitably normalized) to Class XII or other qualifying examination marks and 60% to performance in the entrance exam. And the significance of JEE (Main) from now on is that only 1.5 lakh of the top rankers in JEE (Main), which includes students from all categories, will be eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2013 (earlier known as IIT-JEE) for admission to the IITs, IIT BHU and ISM Dhanbad.

Score and Result for JEE (Main) - 2013

* The score of JEE (Main) - 2013 for all candidates will be declared by May 7th 2013. This score shall comprise of the actual marks obtained in JEE (Main) - 2013 along with the status of those who qualify for appearing in JEE (Advanced) - 2013 provided other conditions of eligibility are

met.

* Separately, on the basis of score in JEE (Main) and normalised score in Class 12th or other qualifying exam (60% and 40% weightage respectively), separate rank lists will be prepared for admission to B.E./B.Tech. and B.Arch/ B.Planning (in institutions other than IITs). This will be declared on or before July May 7th, 2013. JEE (Main) Rank Card indicating All India Rank, State Rank and Category Rank with total marks and marks in each paper will be available on website from July 8th, 2013 onwards.

*The rank cards will be dispatched to the candidates from July 12th, 2013 onwards by ordinary post. The JEE Apex Board or JEE (Main) Secretariat will not be responsible for any consequences that may arise due to the loss of rank card in transit. In case of non-receipt of the rank card within the stipulated period, candidate may apply for duplicate rank card along with the payment of Rs. 50/- (plus postal charges of Rs. 30/- for outstation candidates) through Demand Draft in favour of Secretary, CBSE, payable at Delhi/New Delhi between Aug 1st to 31st, 2013. No request for issue of duplicate rank card will be entertained thereafter.
